Regular updates to smartphones have become rather paramount, especially in this connected age. If your device is more than a couple of months behind on monthly security patches, you stand at a far greater risk.
This is probably the reason we have seen many Android OEMs pulling up their socks in terms of pushing out regular security patches and system upgrades to their devices. However, when getting these updates, not everything goes well.
In the recent past, we have seen various OEMs roll out updates, only for them to prove buggy and problematic and get pulled almost immediately. But then sometimes, these updates go well and after roll out, users note a few things are broken.
This is the case that is playing out with the Oppo Reno 10X Zoom. The Reno 10X Zoom got updated to Android 10 recently, but the Android 10 update came with a little more than just a flashy new OS.
Users quickly noted that their devices could no longer access Netflix HDR content. Oppo the promised HDR10 support in Netflix streaming app. That has not materialized since.
Over a year later, HDR10 on Netflix is not available. Initially, the Oppo Reno 10X had Widewine L1 certificates, but that was seemingly omitted in the update to Android 10. Today, widevine L3cert and 1080p is also not available.
In response to a concerned Oppo Reno 10X Zoom user who sort to find out the state of this rather important feature for the device, Oppo India says that
Rest assured that your feedback about Widevine L1 has been duly noted and passed on to our team for future considerations.

This seems like the classic PR you get from a company. It is, therefore, not clear when support for this will be brought back to the Oppo Reno 10X but as it stands, there is no official communication on this.
We can only hope that the company heeds and fixes this in a future update. We shall keep an eye on this and update as, or when we get more information on this.
