[Updated] Samsung Galaxy S9+ One UI 2.1 update coming, but no release date, says support

Samsung Galaxy Note 9 owners looking forward to receiving the update to One UI 2.1 recently got some good news as a Galaxy Note software moderator in the Samsung Korea community revealed that the company was indeed looking to update the device to the new software.

This obviously brought a much-needed sigh of relief among Note 9 owners, but there was no mention of the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ One UI 2.1 update status. This, of course, left owners of the duo concerned.

Last month, it had been revealed that the Galaxy S9 and S9+ will join the Note 9 and their newer counterparts in picking up the One UI 2.1 update. But soon after the rollout went live for the Note 10 and S10, reports emerged that none of the 2018 handsets will receive it.

With the Galaxy Note 9 One UI 2.1 update seemingly confirmed, it has now emerged that the Galaxy S9+ is also being lined up for the same update. Granted, the same package should also find its way to the standard Galaxy S9.

The screengrab above allegedly shows a conversation between a Galaxy S9+ owner and Samsung India support. When asked whether the S9+ One UI 2.1 update is coming, Kapil, the support guy, answers with a solid yes.

But when pushed further for the release date, he says there is none at the moment. This is the same story that came from the Galaxy Note 9 One UI 2.1 update camp, where the devs are holding the release-date cards close to their chests.

Apparently, there is no date because Samsung is still evaluating the specific features to include in the One UI 2.1 package meant for the Galaxy Note 9 in order to maintain top performance. If anything, the story should be the same for the S9 and S9+.
