Buying an expensive phone with hard-earned money and even though your device sports an HD display, you are not able to stream online video content on Netflix in HD, is kind of a bummer.
Point to note is that there are several smartphones in the market that are not able to stream HD content on Netflix, even though they are capable and have been one of the hot topics of discussion among users.
Some OEMs have been kind enough and has provided this feature via an update, but there are still some of the phone waiting to get Netflix HD streaming support.
And coming in as a breather for users who were waiting for the Netflix HD support on their smartphones, the online streaming giant has extended its HD support to over forty phones, recently.
Not only smartphones, but six new chipsets are also now supported for streaming HD Netflix content. There are some 15 devices that have also picked up HDR10 streaming support.
Notably, the devices that will now support HD Netflix streaming are Oppo Reno 3/3 Pro, Xiaomi Mi 10 series, Mi Note 10 Lite, Xperia 1, Xperia 5, Xperia XZ1 and XZ2 Compact.

Note that Netflix has added some of the above-mentioned phones to its list of devices that support HD streaming, but it is yet to include all the phones. Historically, Netflix takes some time in updating its list.
