[Updated] Nokia 5.1 Plus Android 10 update almost there, "close to receiving," confirms support

As days are passing by, more Android phones are being ticked off from the list of devices receiving the Android 10 update. HMD Global Nokia brand has also shown great efforts in updating the phones in its portfolio.

In fact, Nokia has already updated the Nokia 4.2, Nokia 8 Sirocco, Nokia 7.2, Nokia 7.1, Nokia 7 Plus, Nokia 2.2, Nokia 6.1, Nokia 6.1 Plus, Nokia 9 PureView, and Nokia 8.1.

While it does look like the Finnish brand has done its job well, there a few more Nokia devices in the pipeline, waiting for the Android 10 update. Among them, is the Nokia 5.1 Plus.

If we take a look at the Nokia’s previously shared timelines, the Nokia 5.1 Plus is expected to get updated to Android 10 sometime within Q2 of 2020.

And to recall, the Nokia 5.1 Plus (aka Nokia X5 in China) came out in 2018 along with Android Oreo out of the box. This means that the device will be receiving its last Android firmware update in the form of Android 10.

Information related to Android 10 for the Nokia 5.1 Plus and Nokia 8 Sirocco have been arriving in tandem and a few days back, the Android 10 internal beta was leaked.

Then yesterday, we have reported that a first video glimpse has surfaced of the Android 10 update on both the phones. Then later in the day, the stable Android 10 OS started rolling out for the Nokia 8 Sirocco.

And if we go by some of the recent tweets by the official Twitter handle of Nokia Mobile India, we can speculate that the next phone to get the Android 10 update will surely be Nokia 5.1 Plus. Responding to a user query, Nokia Mobile India on Twitter, stated,

Almost there! You’re close to receiving the update.

And since Nokia is not known for holding back the latest updates for much longer, we can expect that the Android 10 update for the Nokia 5.1 Plus is right around the corner and users will get to taste the Android 10 OS sooner than expected.
