Most eligible devices have already been updated to Android 10. This has mostly been done according to the respective OEM’s Android 10 roadmap. The few remaining devices should get updated sometime within this quarter.
LG has also updated a number of its devices to Android 10 but the LG G8X and the LG G8 haven’t been quite as lucky. These devices still run on Android 9 Pie.
It looks like the owners of these two devices will have to wait a little bit longer for the update to Android 10. This is because LG just started rolling out the March 2020 Android security patch update to these two devices.
The updates to both the LG G8X and the LG G8 have been spotted across Europe in Germany and should roll out to more regions in the coming few weeks.
The update packs little more than a bump in the security patch level as can be seen in the changelog for the update seen below. Many thanks to TeJas Raut for the tip for the LG G8 update.
It remains unclear when exactly LG plans to update these two devices to Android 10. To recall, LG already has a list of its devices that it plans to update to Android 10 within this second quarter of 2020. These devices include the LG V50S, V40, and the G7 ThinQ.
We shall keep an eye on this story and update as, and when we get more info about the further rollout of this March update to LG device and the planned upgrade to Android 10 by the company.
