Original story (published on April 3) follows:
At this point, devices that run on Android 10 are quickly becoming the majority and not the exception. This partly due to the fact that Android 10 is several months old and its successor, Android 11 is already in the works.
Xiaomi has really tried to push out Android 10 to many of its eligible devices. One device that has been lagging behind a little bit is the Xiaomi Mi Note 10. The device that was first unveiled in November 2019 was released running Android 9 Pie.
While the device has been updated with monthly security patches diligently since its launch, users of the device which is sold in other markets as the Mi CC9 Pro have been eagerly awaiting a rollout of Android 10.
Much to the delight of these owners, back in mid-February the device received an Android 10 beta update. That update was then later followed by a stable (internal beta) push in China recently. You can read more on that here.
Now, it turns out that the Mi Note 10 will get updated to Android 10 sometime in the second quarter of 2020. At least according to one Super Moderator on the Xiaomi Forum.
Previously, an announcement on the Chinese Forums indicated that the Mi CC9 Pro would get updated to Android 10 sometime in mid-April. This means that indeed, the Mi Note 10, a device that is identical to the CC9 Pro, should also get updated not too long afterward.
This confirmation, while not exactly specific, is still a breath of fresh air for Mi Note 10 users who have been eagerly awaiting some level of commitment from Xiaomi on this issue, even at a time when the world is grappling with many cancellations and delays owing to the ongoing COVID-19 Pandemic.
Also, as per the purported MIUI 12 (Android 11/R) list, the Mi Note 10 should get a taste of the upcoming MIUI, MIUI 12 when it drops. More on that here.
