While there still quite a number of phones from Huawei and Honor waiting for the EMUI 10 or the Magic UI 3.0, the Chinese OEM is expected to bring one interesting feature with the EMUI 11 and Magic UI 4.0.
Recently, Google released the Developer Preview 2 of the Android 11 and there are certain new features that we are going to see with the latest iteration of the Android 11. If you are interested in knowing about the features of the Android 11 that has, till now, surfaced, then you can head here.
Moreover, with the latest Android 11 DP 2, Google introduced a new feature where users can tap the back of the phone to perform certain actions like triggering voice assistant, controlling media, snoozing alarms, launching cameras and more.
And since EMUI 11 or Magic UI 4.0 will be based on the Android 11 OS, both UIs are expected to get this feature. What’s more interesting is that this feature does not require any special hardware and makes the use of accelerometer and gyroscope on the phone.

Although there is enough time left for the launch of EMUI 11 or Magic UI 4.0, there is some good news for the Huawei users. As per a recent tweet by the official Twitter handle of EMUI, the EMUI 10.1 is scheduled to debut on March 26, just 3 days from now!

Moreover, EMUI 10.1 has recently bagged a certificate from China Cybersecurity Review Technology and Certification Center, a cybersecurity standard for smartphone’s software and is slated to debut pre-installed on the Huawei P40 series on March 26.
This custom UI of Huawei has also picked up the EAL4+ (Evaluation Assurance Level) certificate that ensures that the product meets the specified international security requirements.
As far as the features of the EMUI 10.1 are concerned, it is going to bring improved GPU Turbo, new HMS capabilities, etc. Check out the CCRT certificate below:

Update 1 (August 6)
Huawei is set to officially announce its EMUI 11/Magic UI 4.0 skin based on Android 11 or possibly even HarmonyOS during the Huawei Developer Conference 2020 which is scheduled to take place in China from September 10 to September 12. The announcement was made on Huawei’s official Twitter account.
Update 2 (August 19)
We’ve now got a glimpse of some of the features and improvements that are expected to come with the EMUI 11 update for Huawei phones via a list on Huawei’s Consumer forum. These include an enhanced dark mode, improved gestures, easy file sharing, and more. For more details, head here.

IST 07:32 pm: Huawei is preparing to recruit beta testers to check out new features on EMUI 10.1. Huawei P40, Mate 30, and MatePad Pro series device owners can register for the internal recruitment. The new features may be brought over to EMUI 11. To know the full story, head here.
