Call of Duty Warzone setup download giving network error message to many players

Warzone has on the lips of many people this month after its booming release on March 10. Activision and Infinity Ward’s new Battle Royale introduced a lot of interesting gameplay and combined with the nostalgia of Black Ops effectively.

Like any new game though, it was riddled with bugs, issues and errors along the way. With the team covering one problem after another, it looks like there were even more issues seeping in. A lot of players are experiencing problems downloading the game.

We tried to get to the heart of this issue. Apparently players are getting a network error message when trying to download the game through the Warzone setup. Some people also complain that they cannot download Battle.net setup too.

Reddit, Google help, Twitter and Forums are filled with people trying to find the solutions to these problems, but as of now we do not see any reliable fix. The problem stems from the servers of Activision getting hammered, so even if you have an active internet, it shows a network error.

We saw some helpful comments though. A player suggested downloading an older client of battle.net desktop application and then updating it. This fix seems to work for some players. Another person suggested downloading the game through a VPN, but we aren’t sure if that will work or not.

There is currently no official word from Activision on the related issue. We hope they are aware and are actively looking to fix the problem. But if you cannot download a 4.7 mb installer properly, it poses a few questions about how problematic would be the bigger issues to download the game. The world situation is changing and it’s a leap to suggest that this is the root cause , but dealing with COVID-19 has crippled a lot of work.
