New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….
Original story (published on March 13, 2020) follows:
Another Samsung Galaxy A-series smartphone has been ticked off from the list of devices receiving One UI 2.0 (Android 10). Apparently, the Galaxy A80 (aka Galaxy A90) is bagging the Android 10 update.
Just a few hours back, the Galaxy A6 (2018) grabbed the One UI 2.0 (Android 10) update in France and it seems like the Galaxy A80 (aka Galaxy A90) has also joined the club in France.
Notably, the update is expected to soon make its way to other regions as well. PiunikaWeb readers should know that other Galaxy A-series devices namely, Galaxy A6 (2018), Galaxy A70s, Galaxy A70, Galaxy A50s, Galaxy A30, and Galaxy A8 have already been updated to the One UI 2.0 (Android 10).
Keep in mind that the Android 10 update was imminent for the Galaxy A80 as it grabbed WiFi Alliance certification running One UI 2.0 (Android 10) update, some months back.
Coming back to the latest update for the Galaxy A80, it arrives with version BTC3 while the security patch date is February 2020.
Keep in mind that the update is being pushed via OTA in batches and will take some time in hitting all the units. However, you can also go ahead and check for the update notification by heading to Settings>>Software Update>>tap on Download and Install option.
However, we were able to grab the update via the Frija tool. This tool downloads the firmware file directly from the Samsung FUS (Firmware Update Server). You can read in-depth about the Frija tool by heading here.
Users who wish to upgrade their phones to Android 10, can grab the complete update package file from the Frija tool and flash it on their phones using the Odin Tool.
