When it comes to the best-augmented reality mobile games, Pokemon Go picks up the top spot. Pokemon Go game was released in 2016 and since then the game has been running strong . Pokemon Go has a very huge community all around the world.
The popularity of the game can be assessed by the amount of revenue, the game has generated for Niantic in the year 2019. Pokemon Go generated a revenue of $1.4 billion in 2019. Niantic also released another augmented reality game, Wizards Unite in 2019, but it did not got similar response like Pokemon Go.
Cut to now, Niantic added the Unova region Pokemon to the game last year which expanded the Pokedex for the game. But some Pokemon are only available regionally in the game. Apart from this, Niantic has also shared the details regarding the upcoming Community Day. Pokemon Go January Community Day will feature Piplup, which is a water-type starter Pokemon from the Sinnoh region.
The upcoming Community Day is also bringing in a range of bonuses for players. Pokemon Go players will get the following bonuses during the Community Day hours: 1/4 Egg hatch distance, 3-hour Lure modules, and event-themed Field Research Tasks.
Pokemon Go Community Day will take place on January 19, 2020, from 11 am to 2 pm for the Northern Hemisphere region. However, Community Day will take place from 3 pm to 6 pm for the players located in the Southern Hemisphere.
If you are lucky, you may catch Shiny Piplup. In addition to this, Niantic has also revealed the Community Day move. Every Prinplup that will be evolved to Empoleon during Community Day hours will learn the move Hydro Cannon.
