One Piece 967 spoilers: Roger finds Laugh Tale

The official release of One Piece chapter 967 will be on January 6, 2020. However, spoilers came early today. This might mean an earlier official release date too.

A spoiler thread on Reddit posted just hours ago show some spoiler details and images of the upcoming chapter. The next chapter is titled “Roger’s adventure”. As the title suggests, this chapter shows how Roger finally found the final island and the One Piece.

The search for poneglyphs

The spoiler post starts by saying that Roger began his search for the poneglyphs. Due to his ability to hear the voice of all things, Roger was probably intrigued by the poneglyphs since his first encounter with it. However, his inability to decipher them makes it impossible for him to understand its meaning.

In the previous chapter, he said that he started taking poneglyphs seriously 13 years before he met Oden. It was the time he found Road Star island, the supposed final island of the grand line. However, Roger realized that Road Star wasn’t the end of the grand line and that there was one more island.

From there, Roger probably started figuring out the purpose and meaning of poneglyphs. During that time he figured out the existence of the road poneglyphs and their purpose of leading someone to the final island.

Roger learned about Joy Boy

Jou Boy is another mysterious character in One Piece. He lived on the surface which is intimately affiliated to Fishman Island by some promise. He was first mentioned in the chapter 628, when Robin read about him in a poneglyph in the Fishman Island.

Joy Boy made an attempt to raise a huge ship named Noah with the help of Poseidon, the only known animate ancient weapon. Somehow along the way, Joy Boy failed his attempt and what the poneglyph Robin saw was a letter of apology to Poseidon from Joy Boy.

In the upcoming chapter, Roger and his crew will go to Fishman Island where Roger learned about Joy Boy. Prior to this, Roger had a conversation with Tom in Water 7. At the end of the chapter when Roger finds the One Piece, he exclaimed that he wished he had lived in the same era as Joy Boy.

Roger named the final island Laugh Tale

During their journey to finding the last island, Roger pirates also went to Wano but stayed for only a few hours. Oden probably dropped his family there together with Inurashi and Nekomamushi. During this time they probably found the final road poneglyph already as the spoiler says that the last road poneglyph carries the Kozuki family crest.

Then just before they set sail to the final island, Buggy was struck by high fever. Shanks stayed behind to nurse him and they both probably did not reach the final island themselves. Roger and his crew then continued their journey and Roger finally accomplished what no other pirate ever accomplished.

Roger finally found the final island of the grand line. When he reached there he laughed at the vast amount of treasure that can be found there. He then exclaims his wish to have lived in Joy Boy’s era and named the island Laugh Tale.
