Huawei recently joined the likes of Essential, OnePlus, Nokia, Xiaomi, and Asus as the only non-Google device makers to release the stable version of Android 10 to some of their devices.
Just like the EMUI 10 beta testing program kicked off with the Huawei P30 and Mate 20 series, the stable Android 10 rollout also started with the two, although the Nova 5T also got it from nowhere.
So far, the rollout is still ongoing, with some markets yet to receive their OTA notifications. More Huawei and Honor devices are expected to pick up the stable update before the year ends, but others, especially those that are just getting their beta program started, will have to wait until next year.
One such group of Huawei/Honor devices that will have to wait until 2020 to get EMUI 10 stable consists of the Honor 10, Honor View 10 (known as Honor V10 in China), Honor 8X and the Huawei Nova 4.
These four devices have just received the green light to join the ongoing EMUI 10 beta program and try the new Android 10 OS ahead of official rollout. However, the exercise is still limited to the Chinese market.
Huawei is conducting a beta recruitment exercise in its home country that will see up to 2,000 owners of each of the four devices link up with their mates in testing EMUI 10 update. The enrollment period ends on November 27.
In order to get EMUI 10 update to try on your Honor 10, V10, Honor 8X or Nova 4, there are a bunch of requirements that need to be met. One of them is having the most recent software update pre-installed ahead of submitting your interest.
The details of the software version you need on each device/model in order to receive Android 10 beta are summarized in the table below.
We will be following up on this story and bring you updates when the actual EMUI 10 update arrives on these four phones not just in China, but also in other parts of the world, so stay tuned. Meanwhile, check out more related stories here and here.
