One Piece Chapter 961 spoilers: Oden slices the Mountain god

One Piece chapter 961 is expected to have an early release this week. It is scheduled to be released on November 1, 2019, in the weekly issue of Shonen Jump. Nevertheless, spoilers still spread as some fans post untranslated images of the upcoming chapter.

A Facebook user posted some images of the upcoming chapter. Oden slicing the mountain god caught fans’ attention. Another source is a Reddit post where some crude translation of the story spreads. Lets take a look at some of those images and translations.

Chaos in the Capital

As was anticipated by some theories of the chapter, the mountain god attacked the capital. The chaotic state of the capital prompted people to search for the offspring of the mountain god. Since the mountain god is part of their culture, they probably know the reason for the beast’s attack.

Kinemon Charges, Oden Slices

One of the townsfolk came to Kinemon to deliver bad news. According to him, O-Tsuro has been eaten by the mountain god. This enraged Kinemon motivating him to attack the giant boar with his sword. While charging, Kinemon shouts at the giant boar to return O-Tsuro.

Seeing Kinemon’s chances against the giant beast is slim, Oden stepped forward. He provoked the mountain god by saying he has the white pig. Using his two iconic swords, Enma and Ame no Habikiri, Oden sliced the mountain god suppressing its rampage.

After Oden shouts that he had the white pig, Kinemon explained it was actually his fault. He explained that he brought the pig to the capital. Thinking it caused O-Tsuro’s death, he wanted to die probably by hara-kiri. Oden stopped him and proceeded to repel the mountain god.

Once the mountain god was mutilated, the shogun appeared. Thinking Oden caused the havoc, Kozuki Sukiyaki exiled Oden. Oden covered for Kinemon and Denjiro, and because of this, they chose to follow him. They are probably two of Oden’s first retainers.

Orochi Appears

On another panel, a younger Shimostuki Yasuie appears. He is talking with his new servant. According to the Reddit post, that servant was Kurozumi Orochi.

In an image posted on Facebook, Orochi appears to be a snotty young man. His appearance is very far from his character in the present storyline. However, it is possible that Orochi already had an inclination towards snatching the title of shogun from the Kozuki clan.
