Respawn Entertainment had a big responsibility before the start of Season 2. They had to make sure that Apex Legends did not fade so early after it’s not so majestic Season 1. The developers brought a ton of content and Ranked Series in Season 2, which made the game all the more interesting.
The Ranked Mode was launched and it was well-received by the players as well. There were some things which could be changed and players did leave feedback with the developers on Reddit. But it seems the Ranked Mode will continue the same way with some minor changes.
Players will basically get a soft reset of their ranking at the beginning of the season. This reset will be equivalent to 1.5 tiers of demotion. This will enable players to reach their skill level tier faster and give enough time to improve their tiers as well.
The scoring system has also been changed a little. RP awards will now be multiplied by 10. Players will now also be rewarded for assists as well. Subsequently, the scoring system is now as follows –
The match cost has now increased as well. The Bronze League is still free of cost, Silver League matches will now cost 12 RP, Gold League matches will now cost 24 RP, Platinum League matches will now cost 36 RP, Diamond League matches will now cost 48 RP and Apex Predator matches will now cost 60 RP.
Assists will now be counted as well as we mentioned above. Assist will only be registered when dealing damage before 5 seconds of the enemy getting knocked. The players won’t earn assist if they get credit for the kill of the player gets revived.
The major problem for Apex Legends was the gameplay involved teamwork and random players getting knocked down and leaving. This is a big reason for frustration among the players. The leaving players will now be punished by getting a set amount of matchmaking delay in both Ranked and Casual series as well.
The rewards for the Season 2’s Ranked series will also be included in Apex Legends Season 3. The weapon cosmetics which includes the gun charms will be given to the players of the Gold League and above. Dive trails will also be included for Diamond and Apex Predator players. You can check out the full details by the devs here!
Apart from the ones discussed here, all other things will remain the same from Ranked Series 1. What do have to say about the new Ranked Series? Let us know in the comment section below.
