We’re back with a bang, with the latest news from the Apple universe. Do you want to know the outcome of an ongoing feud between Apple and Qualcomm? Will Spotify take Apple to court? Will Apple launch new products soon? We have all the answers here, so read on!

Apple has run out of luck in the battle against Qualcomm over the issue of patent infringement. The U.S jury and court have ruled in favor of Qualcomm. Well, considering the facts and figures, luck had always been on its side.

The news of Qualcomm’s victory went viral after an author from Bloomberg decided to share the news on Twitter. The result of the court ruling stood at about $31.6 million in damages being awarded to Qualcomm.

This win puts Qualcomm in the driver seat to pressure the court into a ban on iPhones which infringe on the technology covered by its patent.

In a statement made by Apple to Bloomberg, the company claims that Qualcomm has deliberately done this in order to stray away from larger issues. One of them being investigations into their business practices.

Proceeding to more legal matters, Spotify is pressing onwards with its issue with Apple in an attempt to reduce the cost of its app being up on the App Store. However, Apple is firmly standing its ground with its belief that Spotify cannot have its app on the Apple App Store for free.

Spotify has opened up in a statement, mentioning that Apple’s response is the stereotypical response by any monopolistic. That it’s one which has been heard before, time and time again. The company further elaborated on Apple’s flawed concept that Spotify users on iOS are Apple customers.

In a huge way, Apple’s actions are hurting competition and is encouraging a thriving monopolistic approach. However, Spotify has full faith in the complaint filed with the European Commission, believing that this body would settle the dispute in its favor.

Moving on, not too long ago Apple’s online store went down. Rumor has it that Apple did so in order to alter its product lineup. Could this mean that Apple is adding a new product to its existing list on its online store?

Well, there’s only one way to find out. You’re going to have to wait and watch! Lately, quite a few Apple products including a reasonably priced iPad, iPad 5 Mini and AirPods 2 have been rumored to launch soon.

Given that its Showtime event is about to take place on March 25, there’s a good chance that Apple could be dropping a hint about its upcoming product launches. A Bloomberg writer took to Twitter to put forward his view and idea of what Apple might be doing.

According to him, Apple might just use its upcoming event to launch new hardware products to further emphasize its focus on news and video services. This is certainly an educated and experienced guess considering the fact that Apple has prided itself on innovation and out of the box thinking.

In fact, given the present state of the tablet market, Apple may be able to capitalize on the market’s present saturated situation. What do you think Apple will do? Share your views and thoughts with us in the comments section.

If you were one of the many who probably agreed with the fact that Apple would launch new products, you’re spot on! Well, if you’ve checked the Apple store by now, you’ve probably already seen it. Apple has launched its new iPad Mini fifth-generation device.
