Freelancers, we are having some issues with @anthemgame connectivity. We will provide updates as we receive them.

A couple of days back, Anthem developers pushed out an update that brought in multiple fixes, including those related to loot and tethering. In case you missed, here’s the change-log:
PiunikaWeb was the first publication to highlight that even this update didn’t fix the ‘Quick Play broken / not working’ bug which has been annoying players for nearly a couple of weeks now. You can read more about it here.
Today, EA acknowledged connectivity issues with Anthem. Their Twitter help handle sent out the following tweet around 5 hours ago:
Freelancers, we are having some issues with @anthemgame connectivity. We will provide updates as we receive them
This was followed by announcement that servers have been taken down for emergency maintenance:
The #AnthemGame servers are currently down for emergency maintenance and you will not be able to log in right now. We will update everyone once they’re back up and running. Thanks for your patience, Freelancers!

Then, around 3 hours ago, it was revealed that servers are back up:
Suit up, Freelancers. @anthemgame is back up and ready to go. Thanks for sticking with us!

But if you look closely at social media platforms – like Twitter – you’ll see users are still complaining about connectivity issues, with most of them getting the classic ‘Connection Problem – Anthem service is currently unavailable” error. Here are some reports:

Clearly, not all users are facing this server connectivity problem, but those who are complaining are significant in number and most of them are Xbox users. For its part, neither EA nor Anthem developers have said anything about this problem which is affecting a subset of Anthem gamers.
The Anthem’s server status page currently reflects no issues. Here’s what it says at the moment:
ALL SERVERS ARE ONLINE!
