Update (January 08):
The issue is fixed.
Original story follows:
Star Wars: the Old Republic, a narrative-focused online RPG from Bioware, is currently facing a serious glitch. A few hours ago, the game’s official Twitter handle acknowledged a “login service unavailable” error that users have been getting.
We are investigating an issue where players are receiving a "login service unavailable" error. We will pass on updates as we have them.

While this error was fixed quickly, another problem – empty server list – came to fore.
Login service is restored, thank you all for your patience.

Since then, the company has provided regular updates on the matter, but sadly, it has all been about ongoing investigation into the matter.

However, the Twitter handle did say the ’empty server list’ problem only affects new logins.
Currently players who are online and playing are not affected, it is only new logins where there is a problem.
