Updates to this story (if any) are included at the bottom….

TV Muse users are sad these days. Their favorite service that allowed them to find and stream TV shows – sometimes, almost immediately after shows aired – has been down for close to a week now.

There is no information on what happened to the site – both tvmuse.com and tvmuse.eu have become inaccessible. Of course, this has lit up shutdown rumors (as we noted here), and lack of any official information has acted as fuel to the fire.

Going by the reaction pouring on Twitter, it appears TVMuse was a loved service. Aside from confusion, many comments reflect how sad users are. Take a look:

One thing that stands out if you take a good look at all comments is that most users are convinced TVMuse has been shut down. I’d like to state here that until there’s any sort of official confirmation on this, don’t think of this as a done deal.

Granted, services like TVMuse have been abruptly shut down in the past, so there is a precedence. But I feel it is too early to assume the service is dead.

Meanwhile, someone who used to post links on the official TVMuse site has switched to another web page where they are offering daily updates in form of new links. I initially thought this as the new home for TVMuse, but sadly, that’s not the case. It’s just one of the contributors who is doing their part here.

Following is a screenshot of that web page, showing close to 100 entries that have already been populated.

So this web page is one option for you all. Otherwise, there are many alternatives to TVMuse that we have already covered recently. Check out the list and also look at the comments on that article to see what options readers have been suggesting. In case you know about an alternative that’s not listed there, just leave the name in comments.

So that’s pretty much it. Just wanted to offer a quick update on the whole TVMuse dead situation. The service may have been shut down, but nothing is official at the moment. Keep checking back here, as I will provide more such updates, hopefully with more newsworthy stuff.

Update (January 10):

TVMuse fans rejoice, service may not be dead after all. Yes, the service is back. For details, head here.

Update (January 17)

The new TVMuse domain – tvmuse.cc – has offered info on upcoming features. Their FAQ page is also up. Read our new story for all these details.
