It was back in August when Google’s newest smartphone OS Android Pie got live. Maintaining its legacy of quick updates, in about a month and a half OnePlus gave its current flagship bearers the taste of the delicious Pie. And now, after OnePlus 6, good news appears to be coming for the next in hierarchy OnePlus 5/5T devices.
What’s coming to light is that Android Pie beta build is out for OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T devices in China, pushing the Hydrogen OS version to 9.0 (as can be seen in the following screenshots).
The update weights about 282 MB, and as per the translation of the change log – done by one of the senior XDA members – it has brought along a new UI design, new background control solution, full screen gesture (for OP5T only) and more.
Here’s a translated version of the complete change log:
With OnePlus 5’s Chinese variants receiving Pie beta, it won’t be wrong to expect the same to make way to Oxygen OS variants of OnePlus 5/5T sometime soon. Don’t worry, we are keeping an active tab, and will update as and when that occurs.
