A Community Lead on the official Virgin Media forum has said the company is now looking into the issue. More info here.

Update (July 23):

Virgin Media Super Hub 2 users are also reporting (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14,15,16,17) WiFi-related issues after upgrading to iOS 11.4.1.

There is lack of clarity about whether the problem lies at Virgin media’s or at Apple’s end.

However, users have shared Apple support is suggesting it’s an issue that Virgin Media needs to look into.

I have spoken to Apple they are saying it’s a VM issue.

Apple blaming Virgin with me too.

No help from VM either and Apple are saying it’s not the update

Meanwhile, users say Virgin Media is suggesting them to upgrade their router to Super Hub 3.

Virgin are saying nothing apart from up grading to a Super hub 3.

Update (July 23): Comments are continuously pouring in on this story, which is testimony to the fact that these WiFi issues are pretty widespread.

If your iOS device’s WiFi connectivity is troubling you after the latest 11.4.1 update, then you aren’t alone.

There are many other Apple users sailing in the same boat.

Take a look on micro-blogging site Twitter, and you’ll find virtually endless (and still developing…) stream of complaints.

These reports are from both iPhone and iPad users troubled with the ‘randomly dropping WiFi connectivity’ problem.

Since the update I am losing wifi connection , I would be browsing the internet or watching YouTube then bang no internet I then after switch the phones WiFi off and on again and no my internet is fine due to working ok on other devices that’s not running iOS

Hello, just to verify that I to updated to 11.4.1 and was faced with exactly the same WiFi problem. After trying advisory fixes which didn’t work (e.g. clearing network settings) I tried a re-install of the update via iTunes but to no avail. Finally I have now downgraded back to iOS 11.4. On iTunes Which has now fixed the problem.

Hi Have exactly the same on my Iphone 6 and my IPad air 2 since updating to IOS 11.4.1 prior to that no issues support called but have since gone quiet on me?

Ok so my iPhone was great, until I installed iOS 11.4.1. Since then the wifi kept cutting in and out. I’ve tried everything I can find, such as resetting network setting, forced restart, forgetting network and reconnecting etc… I tried rolling back to 11.4 as I’d had no issues before. But it forced the recent update again. I can’t find a signed version to roll back to now other than the 11.4.1. So I’ve installed iOS 12 beta version 3 (current version at the moment) And the wifi connection seems to last longer, but eventually cuts off and only reconnects after toggling wifi off and on again.

While majority users report WiFi drops, some also encounter slow/sluggish connectivity that results apps struggling to connect and load content.

As for workarounds, users report that disconnecting and reconnecting to the WiFi network resolves the problem, but only temporarily.
