This morning, we came across some complaints form Nokia mobile users on micro-blogging site Twitter, bringing to notice some WiFi-related issues they are encountering on their phones.

So we though of digging in deep, and found out that the problem wasn’t device specific.

Rather, we could locate endless number of reports (1,2,3,4,5,6,7 and many more) from Nokia 8, 7 Plus, 6.1 and 6 users on the company’s official help forum, complaining about WiFi connection randomly dropping for them.

In a look out for the common link, we ended up finding out that most of the affected Nokia users (irrespective of their device), have reportedly been encountering the WiFi connectivity problems after receiving the Android 8.1 update on their respective units.

So, the WiFi problem on different Nokia devices appear to have a common root, the Android 8.1 update.

Nokia-Phones

Though Nokia rolled out a patch back in June to fix the WiFi connectivity issues, given that users continue complaining weeks after the roll out of the update, it’s reasonable to assume the patch failed to fix the problem.

Good News

What’s appeasing is that the company has officially acknowledged the glitchy WiFi behavior while reverting back to a couple of Nokia users on Twitter, and said a future update will fix the problem.

But they were light on sharing the details as to when the promised update will begin rolling.

We hope the update gets live soon, for the problem in question has already troubled a lot of Nokia mobile users. Rest assured, we’ll let you know as and when that occurs, so keep a tab of this space.
