With the two factor authentication (2FA) security technique being adopted by majority of online services, most of us have to deal with the extra step that involves opening the 2FA message and copying the code it contains.
Well, Google is apparently trying to make things easier for users in this regard. The company has added a new feature to the Android Messages app that shows up as an option to directly copy the code contained in 2FA message notifications.

Granted, several other messaging apps are even better when it comes to handling codes, but given that Android Messages is the default messaging app on several Android phones, including the Pixel series, this is big news.
Users who have spotted this feature say it popped up after a recent Android Messages update.
A quick look at the app’s Google Play listing reveals it was updated on May 7. The change-log, however, doesn’t mention anything related to this functionality.
