Xiaomi’s flagship Mi 6 device (running Global Stable ROM) received a firmware update last month, bumping the version to 9.2.2.0. The update brought along a new issue – reduced sound of hands-free.

The issue was raised by an Mi 6 user, a couple of days back, on the company’s official help forum. Here’s what they said about the problem:

Hands-free sound is really low after the update, please revert to the previous one, half the volume compared to Android 9.0.2.0

Soon after the matter was highlighted, one of the members from MIUI Bug Hunter Team confirmed the glitch saying the concerned team has been made aware and the problem will be fixed soon. Following is the exact statement:

This issue is confirmed as a bug and forwarded to the concerned team. This issue will be rectified soon so kindly stay tuned

While it’s appeasing that the matter has been brought to the company’s notice, there’s no information on exactly how long will it take to fix what’s broken. We hope they do it sooner than later.
