Phenomenally bumpy has been the track record of Google’s new Pixel 2 devices. In addition to the routine, mundane bugs, the company has given some jaw dropping product deliveries to a few customers – remember the Pixel 2 XL boxed without an OS?
Hold yourself, as here comes another blooper – hard to describe the issue in one line, but if phones would have had antennas like TVs, we would have said some Pixel 2 units’ antennas have gone loose now.
Humor aside, we pity the user whose newly-bought Pixel 2 has freaked out, and gone useless. Christmas has indeed been sad for this Pixel user, the display of whose phone apparently lost senses just before the festival.
The user says the screen of their device – that arrived on December 04 – randomly went grainy (or static) without them doing anything crazy. Take a look at the following picture (shared by the user).
This reminds us of the good old days of cable connections going hay-wire, no?
Anyway, the user also mentioned that the issue doesn’t appear to be screen-specific, as the device in question also fails to connect to PC (with a USB-C to USB-A cable), leading him to believe that a motherboard fault or some other hardware problem is to be blamed.
Here’s what they exactly said:
It’s also worth mentioning that a Pixel 2 XL user also added on the same Reddit thread that their phone also did something similar, so Google sent him a replacement a few days back.
Some faulty units, or a new problem rearing its ugly head? Well, it’s too early to comment. Whatever the reason be, we hope the company addresses it before the fire spreads.
