Just recently, Apple rolled out an update to fix an auto-correction bug that caused the letter ‘i’ to be replaced by ‘A?’. But, looks like in a rush to solve that problem, the company missed another similar use-case that many have been reporting.
Case in point: ‘it’ is auto-corrected to ‘I.t’ on typing.

Here’s a user-shared screenshot displaying the same:
The problem is not new, as iOS 11 users started chiming about it right in the beginning of November (as can be seen in the following screenshot of tweets), which is during the same time when the other auto-correction bug was making news. But apparently this one somehow went unnoticed.
Latest tweets (floated a few hours back) clearly convey that the functionality still stands broken, as users continue to face auto-correction glitch when typing ‘it’.
For those who aren’t clear about the problem yet, here’s the detailed use-case: those with devices running latest iOS 11 versions (11.1.1 and 11.1.2, mainly) are reporting that whenever they type ‘it’, iOS auto-corrects that to ‘I.t’, and this happens even if they delete and retype ‘it’ again and again. Take a look at how an affected user explained the problem in question on Reddit:
A large number of iOS users are reporting about this issue, with complaints pouring in on Reddit as well as Twitter. Though nothing has been said officially by Apple, it’s clearly a bug with iOS’ auto-correction feature that needs to be fixed asap, as it’s preventing users from typing something as simple as ‘it’.
We hope the company takes notice of the problem, and fixes it sooner than later. And like we always say, we are keeping a close tab on all related developments, so will keep you updated.
