Samsung’s latest flagship devices – with issues all over – have captured most of the headlines. Recently, one more problem has made way to the plethora of bugs- Galaxy S8/S8+ fails to mirror to smart TVs.

As most of you will probably know that Smart view, as the company says allows direct device-to-device connections using Wi-Fi Direct, without having to connect to a Wi-Fi network. All in all, whatever plays on phone can be mirrored to the big TV screen. But sadly, the functionality is not working as intended both on S8/S8+.

It was back in April, when S8 users first brought to notice that Smart View wasn’t working on their devices.

Soon thereafter, S8+ users also started to report the same.

Those affected add that both the devices – phone and the smart TV – recognize each other, try to connect, but then either it fails to turns on Smart View or the TV screen turns black.

As most of the users mentioned that it was an update that rendered screen mirroring, one of the moderators on the official Samsung Community mentioned in their latest post that it might take another update to fix the glitch.

Since an update to the tv worked the last time, it might require another update this time too. Keep an eye out for an update and I’ll make sure that this is forwarded along to be worked on

Whatever the case be, we are hoping that the company will catch hold of the actual root cause, and fix it sooner than later. We are keeping a close watch on every related development, and will keep updating as and when they occur.
