As you might already know, Pixel 2’s (specifically the XL model’s) issue with audio in recorded videos has been hitting headlines over past few days. Sensing the urgency, Google quickly kicked off investigations into the matter, and the good news is that problem has been fixed internally by the company.
Google employee Orrin’s recent post on the official Pixel User Community revealed that the fix will start hitting users’ devices in a future update. Here’s what exactly he said:
Sadly, Orrin didn’t reveal an exact roll out time frame, although we expect the update to arrive sometime this month.
Giving you a quick recall, the issue came to notice with the escalating number of complaints – both on Reddit and the official Pixel help forum – where users reported distorted-low quality audio in videos recorded by Google’s new flagship phones (clearly recognizable in the following user-shared videos).

It’s good to see Google quickly addressing Pixel 2 issues, but it’s still a long road for the company as several others problems are still pending.
