Update: DownDetector confirms Google Drive is indeed experiencing problems. See here.

Original story:

In September, Google Drive suffered a massive outage. Although the company was quick to fix the problem, you can’t deny the fact that millions of users were affected. Well, it’s just been less than two months, and the cloud storage service is down again.

Few hours back, Google employee Ben (who is also the Community Manager at the official Drive forum) confirmed the issue in a special post on Google Drive help forum, adding that the company is aware and investigating the problem.

Here’s the complete statement:

Going by the categories in the post, the problem seems to be limited to Mac OS users who access the service through their Web browser.

Since the post hasn’t been updated so far, it’s safe to assume that the issue hasn’t been fixed yet. Unsurprisingly, users have already started sharing on social media channels that Drive is down for them.

What’s good is that users don’t have to visit Google’s Product forums for an official confirmation on the outage, as the team Google Drive is already acknowledging the problem on Twitter.

Curiously, the G Suite Status Dashboard page – which offers performance information for G Suite services – doesn’t show any Drive related outage. But as Google has officially confirmed the outage, it’s reasonable to say that the Dashboard isn’t reflecting the actual status currently.

We are hopeful that the problem gets fixed soon, and will let you know as and when there’s an update from Google on the matter.
