Are you an LG V20 owner who uses Google’s Allo smart messaging app? Have you been facing issues with recording/sending voice messages during Allo chats? If yes, then you’re not alone, as a large number of other V20 users are also affected by the same problem.
In fact, complaints have been pouring in since September 2016, but looks like they all fell on deaf ears, as the issue continues to persist till date.
Specifically, LG V20 users say that Google Allo is not recording/sending voice messages. ‘Couldn’t save audio. Try again‘ is the notification that pops up. The following user-shared screenshot clearly shows the error in question.
Those affected explain that after tapping on the mic button, it appears like Allo is recording the message, but suddenly the error shows up, and the voice note is neither recorded nor sent.
Users stress that the mic of their phone is completely operational, as voice commands with applications like Google Assistant are functioning properly. This effectively rules out the possibility that this could be a device specific issue, and brings the spotlight on to Allo.
In a relief of sorts, on September 8 this month, the problem was brought to the notice of Allo’s Product head Amit Fulay on on Twitter. He promised the company will look into the issue.
While it’s good that now the top executive overseeing the Allo project is aware of the glitch, there’s still no information on if and when a fix will arrive. If you are also facing the problem, keep a tab here, as we’ll bring you all related developments as and when they happen.
